Are you a nature lover and like to explore? This 9-days tour will take you to discover the marine and historical wonders of the East coast of Madagascar, beneath its tropical forest abounding in many surprising biodiversities of an exceptional beauty.

Day 1 : Arrival in Antananarivo

Our team will welcome you at Ivato International Airport on your arrival, transfer to the hotel, presentation of your tour program and delivery of your travel documents. Possibility to visit the city according to your flight schedule. Free to choose a restaurant for dinner and night at the hotel.

Day 2 : Road to Andasibe village

After breakfast, departure for Andasibe to meet the famous Indri indri in its large park and nature reserve. On the way, a small visit of the Peyrieras reserve to discover butterflies and reptiles. Free to choose a restaurant for lunch. In the early afternoon, arrival in Andasibe, visit of the Vakona reserve. This reserve, very well designed, includes a small informal museum, a lake with crocodiles, various species of reptiles and amphibians, several endemic plants, a superb aviary and especially a “mini-park” with lemurs including several islands where various species of these prosimians ramble. We will travel by canoe from islet to islet, to get very close to the specimens of the park, partly tamed. An unforgettable encounter even for the most skeptical. Dinner and night at the hotel.

Day 3 : Exploring the Andasibe landscape before travelling to Tamatave

After breakfast, in the morning, guided tour of the Analamazaotra reserve: a dense and humid forest. The latter conceals a great biodiversity that you will discover at each step to marvel and surprise you a little more… The observation of the largest living lemur on the planet, the Indri-indri, in its natural environment, and of other species of diurnal and nocturnal lemurs, frogs and reptiles that populate the park. An adventure, an expedition not to be missed, climate varying from humid East. The landscapes are spectacular and the local population very welcoming.
After, you are free to choose the restaurant for lunch, road to Tamatave, the capital of the East. Small stops en route to admire the beauty of Malagasy crafts, photo shoots. Passage to the surprising palm grove of Ivondro. Dinner and night at the hotel.

Day 4 : Boat trip to visit Plum Island

After breakfast, early morning meeting at the port and 45min boat trip. Plum Island is a small desert island remarkable for its fauna and flora and the history of its lighthouse. Do not forget its marine aquarium. Picnic lunch. Return to Tamatave in the afternoon, discovery of the city.

Day 5 : Discovery of the Ivoloina Zoological Park and drive to Foulpointe

After breakfast, departure to discover the Ivoloina Park. In this zoological park, you can find 13 species of lemurs, in captivity or in freedom, radiata and pryxis turtles as well as chameleons. This is the time to discover the Aye aye, endemic and endangered. Swimming under the waterfall and short hike to contemplate a wonderful landscape at the highest point of the park. Lunch at the restaurant. On the way to Foulpointe. Installation at the hotel. Dinner and night at the hotel.

Day 6 : Expedition of the Manda Fort of Foulpointe

After breakfast, visit of the Manda Fort, a surprising site with all its interesting history. Stroll in dugout canoe to see the stars, sea snakes and their friends. Seafood and fruits are to fall on the ground. The opportunity to do face painting and braids, especially massages while you relax on the beach.

Day 7 : Return to Tamatave for a walk by the sea

Free Morning on Foulpointe, free lunch at the restaurant then in the afternoon, return to Tamatave. You will discover the atmosphere of the evening by the sea. Free to choose the restaurant for dinner, night at the hotel.

Day 8 : Drive to Antananarivo for a visit of the handicraft market

After breakfast, departure for Antananarivo. You will have two choices: either return to Antananarivo by car or return by plane. Transfer to the hotel and small visit of the artisanal market on the dam road to buy small souvenir items and discover the talents of the Malagasy craftsmen. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 9 : A city tour before returning to the Country of Origin

After breakfast, departure for the visit of the historical remains of the capital. About twenty kilometers north of the city is the cradle of the Merina monarchy in Ambohimanga or “the blue hill”. Along the way, you will discover a center committed to the education of autistic children. This is the Padre Pio Charity House, supported by our Tour Operator in its charitable activities. Dinner offert and meeting with our team. Day use: the room is at your disposal until your departure in the evening. Transfer to the airport for the return flight.
