Day 1 : Arrival in Antananarivo

Upon the arrival at Ivato International Airport, you meet by our staff and transferred to the hotel where you spend the night. Program presentation of the tour and delivery the travel documents. Dinner and night at the hotel.

Day 2 : Drive to the Eastern Rainforest

After breakfast, leave the Highlands and head due east along a winding road towards Andasibe. Along of the way, stop in Marozevo to visit Peyrieras reserve and there will be the opportunity to meet endemic species of chameleons. Another small stop to discover a little bit Moramanga city and its museum. Lunch at the restaurant. Continuation in the direction of Périnet. Arrival at the end of the afternoon and installation at the hotel. Dinner and night at the hotel.

Day 3 : Discovering the great lemurs of Madagascar

Day devoted to the visit of the most accessible and unmissable park. Guided tour of the Analamazaotra reserve: a dense humid forest. The latter conceals a great biodiversity that you will discover at each step to marvel and surprise you a little more… For the observation of the biggest living lemur of the planet, the Indri-indri, in its natural environment, and the other species of diurnal and nocturnal lemurs, frogs and reptiles that populate the park. An adventure, an expedition not to be missed, climate varying from humid East. The landscapes are spectacular and the local population very welcoming. Lunch at the restaurant.
You have the opportunity to discover the private park of Vakona: This reserve, very well-conceived, includes a small informal museum, a lake with crocodiles, various species of reptiles and batrachians, several endemic plants, a superb aviary and especially a “mini-park” with lemurs including several small islands where various species of these prosimians are loafing around. Move by canoe from islet to islet, to get very close to the park specimens, partly tamed. An unforgettable encounter even for the most skeptical. Dinner and night at the hotel.

Day 4 : Road to Tamatave

After breakfast, drive to Tamatave, the east coast capital. Small stops on the way to admire the beauty of Malagasy handicrafts, photo shoots. Passage to the surprising palm grove of Ivondro. Arrival at destination, lunch at the restaurant, then you discover the Toamasina city through its history and culture, so walk through its alleys, boulevards, avenue and cathedrals, …

Day 5 : Boat transfer to Maroantsetra

From early morning at 5 am sharp after breakfast, take the boat at the port of Tamatave to reach Maroantsetra. Get the experience an exceptional adventure in a high-speed catamaran-type boat at about 14 hours sailing time. Enjoy the beauty of the landscape, the ocean view. Also enjoy a total change of scenery away from the euphoria and bustle. The boat passes by foulpointe where the scenery is fascinating and there is a certain harmony in the landscape. Picnic lunch in the boat. Afterwards, the navigation continues. Arrival in Maroantsetra at night. Hotel check-in.

Day 6 : Detour to the largest park in Madagascar “Masoala National Park”

After breakfast, transfer by boat to Ambanizana about 1 hour and 30 minutes to discover the Masoala National Park which covers 230 000 ha of land surface and 10 000 ha of marine surface, it is a proof that it is the largest park in Madagascar. The endemicities of the fauna and flora are dominant. Picnic lunch in the park. Dinner and night in a lodge.

Day 7 : Continuation of the discovery of the park

Continue to discover the park with a long day hike in search of the Vari Roux and the Helmet Vanga. Canoe trip on the lagoon and the river through the mangrove. In the early evening, night visit to meet the mouse lemur, Lépilémur and the Avahi. Dinner and night at the lodge.

Day 8 : Diving in the coral reefs of Masoala National Park

Day dedicated to following the coastal forest to the marine park where you can snorkel in the coral reefs, laze around and have a picnic lunch. Afterwards, return by boat to the ecolodge. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 9 : Stopover at the Nosy Mangabe reserve

Return to Maroantsetra and stop at the Nosy Mangabe reserve which is the largest island in the Antongil bay with an area of 520 ha, it is a humid and evergreen forest. Wright and Pierre Verin, researchers suggest that man inhabited the islet in the 8th century AD. The Europeans, more precisely the Hollander, were the great visitors to this islet, it was the cause of an appropriate stopover on the road to India and spices. Nowadays, the real witness is the “Hollanders’ beach”, Hollanders’ writings on the rocks of the islet. Return to Maroantsetra before early afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 10 : Fly back to Antananarivo

After breakfast, return to the capital of Madagascar by domestic flight. Transfer to the hotel and small visit to the craft market on the digue to buy small souvenir items and have a look the talents of the Malagasy craftsmen. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 11 : Exploration of the city of a thousand soldiers and its most famous historical sites, then fly back to home country

After breakfast, departure for the visit of the historical remains of the capital. About twenty kilometers north of the city is the cradle of the Merina monarchy in Ambohimanga or “the blue hill”. Along of the way, discover a center that is committed to the education of autistic children. This is the Padre Pio Charity House, supported by our Tour Operator in its charitable activities. Dinner and meeting with our team. Day use: the room is at your disposal until departure in the night. Transfer to the airport for the fly back to home country.
